"I started at this farm school 40 years ago. Back then it was just a single building with one classroom. There were no toilets or running water and all grades were taught in the same class by the same teacher at the same time.

"I never wanted to go anywhere else. This school is my life and passion and I will soon retire from here. I've watched it grow and develop. It's all I've ever wanted!"

"I took my first photograph aged 12 in 1939 with a Box Brownie camera. It was of the Jeppe St Post Office and I sold the picture for half a Crown. And I'm still at it today.

"I used this Speed Graphic when I worked for the newspapers, Transvaler and Vaderland. But all of my cameras are special."
